These trials were planned to start this July though we are now having a pause to make sure more voices are heard and to ensure we get information to you and feedback from you about these ambitious plans.Part of the mix of communicating the filtered neighbourhood design plans (under the restrictions of Covid 19) is bringing our community engagement online more.

We will also have letters going to households and a phone number available to contact the project team. In addition, we will be looking into socially distanced activities across the area to boost community knowledge and interaction with the filtered neighbourhood plans.

Hello all!
After valuable feedback from more of the community via the Commonplace heatmap and at local engagement events held with Sustrans in Levenshulme in both January and February 2020, we have updated the proposed active ‘filtered’ neighbourhood area.
Two New Areas IncludedAs we look forward to embarking on the next phase of our scheme development and showcasing the plans for the filtered neighbourhood, we have extended the boundary to include two new sections and updated the Commonplace heatmap to reflect these changes.
See the revised map for the two additional areas we have now included after your feedback.
If you would like to read more about the thinking behind the revised area or to view/download a pdf of the new boundary please visit our website .
We're making good progress now and had a smashing time at last weeks co-design events at Levenshulme Inspire. Over 100 people attended and helped the project delivery team work on the 'cell' approach to our filtered neighbourhood area.
What Will We Be Doing On Saturday? We now have a series of cells (smaller areas inside this map) to work on 'STREET BY STREET'
So, we'll be getting to work this Saturday with Sustrans (hopefully with you there!) to develop the changes within the breakdown areas in more detail...ready for Summer 2020 trials.OMG!!!
SESSION PLAN FOR SATURDAY ------------------------------------------------------------* Explanation of the key principals in creating a design.* Groups to use mini-modal filter images to create a plan to filter each cell* Show the cell map* Suggestions for where fancy filters/simple would go* Looking at quick wins and crossings* Identifying where crossings and continuous walk ways should go.* Mapping potential “quick wins” in the area to improve.* Cell-level findings on access issues and crossings

The A6 Parklet - Get Your Comments In - Final Week for Design Feedback- -----------------------------------------------------------There have been plenty of detailed comments over the past fortnight on the first draft outcome of the co-design on our first ( of many we hope!) parklets for Levenshulme.
Overwhelmingly positive and constructive feedback which is proving really useful to feed into the final design. We'll do a summary with the feedback and share with the designers and yourselves as we progress things further...You have a week to get your ideas/issues in and we can start getting this trial trialled.

Filtered Neighbourhood Co-Design Event. 29th of Jan 2020Next up in the calendar is a big one. We're working with Sustrans to take our ideas, suggestions and issues from Commonplace and events around the community so far and turn them into the basis of the design for our filtered neighbourhood.
The first of these co-design workshops take place from 5pm to 8pm on Wednesday the 29th of Jan. We URGE you to come along. You can drop in and out - there will be hot food and drinks and lots of expert support to help understand the design process - NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED, JUST YOUR LOCAL KNOWLEDGE!
We have an Eventbrite page to get an idea fo numbers if you'd like to confirm attendance here
Hello All,
Thanks so much for contributing to the heat map , registering your interest in the bike hangars ( 107 folks so far are keen!) and telling us about your street .
We've had a whopping total of 2830 contributions from you so far. Seriously impressive people!
It's all really helpful and is building up a good strong picture of the need and the wants for the creation of our active neighbourhood. Please keep those ace comments coming in and keep telling more people how they can share their knowledge and get involved.
Talking about getting involved...
November Catch Up - Come Along! We're hosting a November catch up at Arcadia Library on Tuesday 26th from 6pm til 7:30pm for anyone who wants to find out a bit more about all of the project areas, speak to a couple of people on the project delivery team about future trials , help on the ground as a street advocate or school advocate or provide us with valuable feedback on the developments so far.
Hope to see you at the Library. New ideas and people always welcome!
We've booked out the community space at Arcadia Leisure Centre on Saturday the 26th of October and we're inviting everyone who lives, works or visits Levenshulme to get involved in the launch of our interactive heat map which will be up and running from next week.
We want you to have your say on 'Our Active Neighbourhood' plans. Come along!
What Will We Be Doing? The project delivery team will be on hand (made up of sustainable transport designers, place making experts and community engagement professionals from Sustrans , Bespoke Transport Consulting and Highways with some of the Levenshulme Bee Network advocates) to chat about the aims of the 'Our Active Neighbourhood' project and collect your issues/ideas to help inform designs.
As well as that, we're installing a big, bold and uniquely Levenshulme parklet (a public space to socialise that takes out a couple of car parking spaces) along the A6 and we want to co-design it with more of the community.
What Time On Saturday?Drop in any time between 1pm and 4pm. Come and help design it with us! Dog bowls, bike spaces, shelter from the rain, gym equipment, a place to rest?Bring your ideas to the fore and we'll try and make it happen!
We can also point you in the right direction to register your interest in a Bike Hangar on your street (another project we're delivering as part as the overall scheme). We really hope to see you there on Saturday!
